For 30 years, Garry has dedicated his engineering career to improving the environment through better management of waste and wastewater in both New Zealand and overseas.

As Beca’s Business Development Manager and a Technical Director for Water and Environment, Garry has been involved in many professional and technical organisations including NZ Water and Wastes Association, the International Water Environmental Federation in Washington and is now President of IPENZ.

Throughout his consulting career, Garry has taken on a wide range of technical challenges to discover new solutions and practices. Through channels such as technical papers, seminars and mentoring, Garry shares his experiences and innovation with the aim to improve environmental management and wastewater engineering among young engineers and his peers within Beca and externally.

Garry believes Beca has been instrumental in developing his career by giving him opportunities to develop within his role. The company’s support has enabled him to build up an extensive New Zealand network of professional and technical organisations that continues to benefit himself, Beca’s clients and the company as a whole.
