“I have enormous respect for the people who lead this company.”
Ann has pioneered groundwater field work at Beca, forming and growing a team of engineering geologists and hydrogeologists. While forging the way for this previously underdeveloped specialist area, Ann’s team has gained high client satisfaction and a strong track record around New Zealand.
Currently the Technical Director of Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology, Ann has spent the last 17 years of her 22 year career with Beca.
The inaugural groundwater project undertaken by the Engineering Geology and Hydrogeology team was the investigation and development of groundwater water supply for the Western Bay of Plenty District Council. This project had many flow-on effects. According to Ann, the council was most appreciative of a job well done, which helped her team gain further projects for local authorities throughout the country and, while some of this work has been challenging, the team has become adept at developing alternative methodologies when dealing with underground water supplies.
Ann highlights Beca’s strengths as the organisation’s professionalism, integrity, size, multidisciplinary nature and the breadth of in-house experience. “The beauty of a company such as Beca is the wide range of career opportunities and paths available,” she says. “If one area isn’t for you, Beca allows you to easily have a go at something different.”
