Rebecca Davidson joined Beca as Senior Legal Counsel in 2004. Her experience at Beca has enabled her to strengthen her commercial skills. Working on establishing joint ventures, acquisitions and subsidiaries as well as conducting contract negotiations and providing risk and strategic management advice has also allowed Rebecca to be directly involved with Beca's growth internationally.
The wide variety of work, including often complex legal and technical issues, gives Rebecca plenty of challenge in her role. She enjoys working closely with other members of the Beca legal team and the strong support of Beca’s executive management team.
Rebecca believes that as an employee owned company, Beca employees have a personal stake in Beca's future and a common goal of wanting to actively contribute to the growth and success of the business.
In 2007 Rebecca won the Bell Gully CLANZ Young Corporate Lawyer of the Year Award which is awarded to lawyers working in-house at corporate or governmental organisations who have made an outstanding contribution to their employer. She feels the award is indicative of the value Beca places on their corporate teams - a value which is underwritten by the opportunity for shareholding.
