The new Ascendas Dalian Software Park is strategically located along the Lushun South Road, on the outskirts of Dalian, China. Spread over 35 hectares along the coast, this flagship development will provide space for China's fast-growing IT industry. Modelled after Ascendas' International Tech Park in Bangalore, the objective is to offer a fully integrated 'work-live-play' environment.
The Software Park will consist of approximately 11 buildings and will be developed in stages over the next five to ten years.The existing masterplan shows nine office buildings in a campus environment, and a central hub with extensive lifestyle amenities. When fully completed the Park will accommodate more than 30,000 IT professionals in more than 600,000m2 of quality space.
Beca was engaged to provide mechanical & electrical engineering services for Phases 1 and 2 of the project. The work scope included defining M&E standards, reviewing the concept design, reviewing local design institute construction drawings, and co-ordinating with the client during the tender and construction stages.

Phase 1 was completed in July 2007. Covering an area of 7 hectares it consists of an 11-storey office building with 4-storey basement, plus lifestyle amenities. With large and efficient floor plates of approximately 6,000m2 the total area of one building is 96,600m2.
Phase 2 is currently underway and targeted for completion during 2009.
